When designing the packaging for the Ensu Design Drain Guard, it was important to reduce as much excess as possible. This helps the product remain the focal point and eliminates waste.

Direct messaging
Clear communication was imperative due to the novelty of the product. Iconography was used to quickly and easily represent the primary features of the drain guard, while photography was used to convey the product in use.

Elegance and strength
This packaging needed to convey luxury while still being strong and durable enough to support extremely heavy items. The brand's black and white color palette was carried through to the packaging, and the designs were kept simple and refined.

The construction of the mineral specimen boxes, or 'flats,' was carefully considered, and multiple rounds of prototypes were produced and tested. This was to ensure precise interaction between the lid and the base, adding to the overall rigidity.

Working with three-dimensional forms
